"Spay and Neuter your pets!" - Bob Barker

since i got my baby girl, Baja, she has gone in heat a few times and if you have never seen a kitty in heat it is a very funny and saddening sight......she would be crawling around almost like on all 4 of her elbows crouching and moaning around the house moving her tail to one side to make her "pecker" available to whomever....and ravishly rolling around on the floor and shoes and following you around...and if she stays still long enough on the floor she would shake rather vigourusly....like her back legs if she was lying on her back would shakeuncontrolably as if she were in pain or utterly uncomfortable....thats what being in heat for a cat looks like from our point f view...imagine how she really feels inside.....WHAT A SIN....and so chris and i debated over getting her fixed or letting her have 1 litter then spaying her......we thought and we thought over 2 heats ago and just recently i caught our boy, Boogs, humping my fuzzy blanket trying to find a hole and chris stuffed dog i got him last year for valentines day....but oddly leaving Baja alone...i only ever caught him around her once and he got embarrased when he noticed me there so it lasted for like 2 seconds and he ran and hid with his tail between his legs...aww poor little guy....but what really made us accually get it done was when i found that boogs had sprayed on chris's schoolbag...luckily nowhere else so we took them today and had them both fixed the same day....
to say the least its very hard to see your cat off into a vet's arms to undergo surgery...i cried all the way home at 7:20 am and called promptly at noon when they sayd we could probably pick them up...but when i called they said i had to wait...so we went at 1 to get them....Boogs was fine just very glad to see us purring loudly and rubbing his face into ours...like a kitty hug i guess...but Baja she didnt look so good.....her belly was and still is all sunken in and she cannot make any noises like she opens her mouth if i pick her up and touch a sensitive spot but nothing will come out....and she is verrrryyyy sleepy..like even now at 330am she is still sleeping with the odd appearance to strech her legs thencurl up in a new spot to go back to sleep...
a weird thing after the surgery about 4 hours after we took them home Baja was asleep in our bed and i went to go check on her and found boogs was ion bed with her beside her but more behind her then i went to sit on the edge of the bed and Boogs lunged at her neck and bit into her....now i dont know wether thats the drugs or the scent she may be giving off after having a "hysterectamy" of sorts....but he was being a savage to her soi had to separate them....you think the vet would have told me something like that would have happened so we woulds have prevented that from happening by separating them.....Baja is too weak to defent herself...either way i hollared at him and put Baja in her canopy bed in the bathroom wth some food and water and a make shift litterbox...POOR LITTLE GIRL....
Boogs has no stickes the vet said they dont put them on boys they leave a small insision where they remove the balls and leave the sac with that small cut because that sack will recede and no sack will be there after a while.....the cat would pull on the stiches or something and cause an infection or worse damage so they opt to leave them out ogf the picture....and baja has what looks like an open sore thats starting to heal...like they stich it on the inside and the skin is together on the outside like a long papercut i guess....no blood and lots of her hair is shaved off....
i feel bad for doing it to them but what would i do with all the kittens they would have had....id end up wanting to keep them all and that wouldnt go over too well...me and chris would be known as the "cat couple" lol....but on a lighter note....Baja is doing better moving around a bit more then before and Boogs well he is not bugging her so thats good....
I love my kitties and wouldnt know what i would have done if anything would have happened to them today...i would have never forgiven myself...but im sure they are going to grow old and very happy with chris and i....xoxoxo love you Boogs and Baja :)
